School Policies: Attendance is a component of the grade. The student will receive a percentage grade by calculating the percentage of days attended out of the total days of class. This percentage will constitute 20% of the student’s final grade. Students who missed class are encouraged to obtain notes from the other students. Students are encouraged to contact the instructor during her allotted hours, within two days of the absence. Any work due must be completed within 2 class days of returning to class following an absence. All quizzes and exams will be posted for 48 hours when scheduled. It is the student’s responsibility to make login, take the class, print out score given and keep in his records. Failure to do so will result in a 0 for that quiz or exam. There will be charge for make-up instruction. All make up instruction or assessment must be completed during instructors allotted hours.
Classroom Policies:
- Student must be connected to the appropriate GOTOmeeting 10 minutes before class start
- Student must introduce in conference call at least 5 min before class
- Student must make sure that no background noises infiltrate into the conference call
- There will be at least one 10 minute break for every hour of instruction
- We encourage and value differences in opinion; however any student who becomes combative or uses degrading language or comments will be given one verbal warning before being asked to leave. The student who is asked to leave class will be marked absent for that day
- Additional help from the instructor is available during instructor’s allotted time
Honor System: Collaboration is encouraged on homework assignments and test preparation. For this purpose we will be providing a student chat room, however all students are expected to produce independent work on all exams. People will be putting their trust in your integrity and placing their health, and possibly their lives, in your hands. Therefore, any student caught cheating on an exam will be referred to the school administration and, if it is proven the student cheated, he/she will receive a failing grade for the semester.
